Oh, sure you have heard, for a great presentation you need great visuals, or 10-20-30 presentation rule, or top 10 slide tips. While these all are valuable tips, to get your message across, all you need a good message conveyed in simple yet convincing manner. If your message is not good enough, then rest all jwellary and beautyfication wont make any difference.
I am an admirer and a great fan of Betsy Streeter, an artist who conveys her good messages in a simple yet convincing manner. There is no fancy stuff in her presentations but you just love it the way she conveys it. Few months back, I came across her presentation "Let out the creative Beast". With use of simple skicky notes, paper, and pen/pencil, Betsy asks you to awaken your sleeping creativity. I just fell in love with her work.
Check the "Let out the creative Beast" presentation below.
Now tell me, don't you agree with what I was saying? If you have a good message presented in a convincing manner, you just don't need any other fancy stuff.
Are you thinking you are not creative anymore? Are you saying your creativity has vanished? Are you feeling stuck up to bring out your ideas? Well, it happens with lot of us out there. So, you are not alone. Betsy shades some light on why it happens in her yet another wonderful presentation "The Best Question in the World". (PS: This is her entry for World's best presentation contest 2010 organized by SlideShare)
Just ask right question. Instead of saying "this is what will happen if...", simply ask "what would happen if...". Let your creative beast out by giving it a permission and encouragement. You will see miracles happening. Give it a try and share with us the story of your creative beast.
